 Pizza, Pizzocchi and Pizzarelle

The Giovenzano Valley, together with its perched villages, is a hotspot for celebrations, delicacies and tradition! The local dishes are not only bound to particular events, such as the Pizza Lèvita at Easter, but can also be tasted throughout the year. You definitely cannot miss out on the Cerretane Pizzarelle, homemade corn and wheat flour pasta seasoned with a spicy tomato sauce! You can also try out the cornmeal, green-stuffed pizzocchi cooked on the “tin”, especially during the traditional Panarda in Ciciliano on every August 19th!

The Giovenzano valley offers plentiful trails that wind through lush woods. Each season brings special flavors: wild asparagus in spring; blackberries in summer; chestnuts and mushrooms in fall; and precious truffles in winter.
