LIVE THE CITY

DIVE INTO THE HEART
OF TIVOLI

Welcome to Tivoli, once known as Tibur and by all accounts older than Rome, from which it is a few kilometers away. Tivoli is a location full of beguiling contrasts that unravels gradually as you go deeper into it.

Lose yourself in a maze of still, narrow alleys or take a stroll through lively streets with shops, workshops and a daily fruit and vegetable market.

VILLA ADRIANA AND VILLA D’ESTE

TIVOLI, A TWICE
WORLD HERITAGE-LISTED CITY

Tivoli will definitely remain in your heart long after you have left. Even though Virgil called it “Superba” (proud) it is in fact an easygoing city, and the same goes for the locals as well! Admittedly, Tivoli boasts a little too much about its two UNESCO sites (and how could it be otherwise?): Villa Adriana, a great masterpiece of Roman architecture and result of a brilliant mind and Villa d’Este, with its elegant Renaissance atmosphere, gorgeous garden and hundreds of fountains. The quintessence of beauty in all of Europe.

TERRE DI OTIUM
ABOUT US

“In these days I have been to Tivoli, where I admired one of the greatest view offered by nature. Those waterfalls, together with the ruins and the whole landscape, are among the things whose knowledge makes us inwardly, profoundly richer.”
- The Italian Journey

Johann Wolfgang Goethe (1787) – German playwright, philosopher, artist

“Neither patient Lacedaemon so much struck me, nor so much did the plain of fertile Larissa, as the house of resounding Albunea, and the precipitately rapid Anio, and the Tiburnian groves, and the orchards watered by ductile rivulets.” – The Odes

Quintus Horatius Flaccus (1st century BC), Roman poet
