Villa Gregoriana is not a villa. This name is a small deception that hides an extraordinary place, praised by Latin poets, painted by hundreds of painters, told in the travel diaries of writers from all over Europe and beyond. I will take you to the Valley of Hell down to the Mermaids' Cave, where the Aniene river disappears. The abyss dominated by the Roman temple and the Great Waterfall are witnesses of distant eras, which make Villa Gregoriana a continuous surprise.
